Crypto Insider: Coinbase Sues the SEC

Date:

Crypto regulations are still a confusing mess. And now Coinbase is suing the SEC to attempt to force regulators to decide on a path forward.

Within the lawsuit, Coinbase asks that the SEC be forced to publicly share its answer to a petition Coinbase filed in July 2022. The petition asked whether the SEC would allow the crypto industry to be regulated using existing SEC frameworks. Nearly a yr later, the SEC still hasn’t responded to the petition.

On this episode of Crypto Insider, Vin Narayanan and Allison Brickell discuss the SEC’s continued refusal to supply guidance, Congress’s role within the conversation, and more.
